‘Steffi Graf Did All of That by the Age of 29’- Novak Djokovic’s Invincible Record Downplayed by Veteran Doubles Player

The record that Novak Djokovic has broken is that of the German Tennis Legend, Steffi Graf. Graf had managed to rack up an astonishing total of 377 weeks at the No. 1 position. While praising Djokovic’s achievement in a podcast , former doubles world No. 1 Rennae Stubbs pointed out that “Graf did all of that by the age of 29” and that her “not even getting to thirty and holding the no. 1 ranking for that amount of time shows you what a phenomenal player she was.” She also pointed out that, “Steffi Graf is the only person to have [the golden slam]” (winning all four slams and the Olympics in the same year).
The Legacy of Steffi and Novak
While Stubbs gave some much-needed praise to Graf, who has been forgotten by much of the modern generation of tennis fans, she also hailed Djokovic’s feats. Stubbs said that “let’s give Novak credit here” and that his achievements are “unbelievable considering how much he shot himself in the foot” (she was referring to how he missed two grand slams due to his vaccination status).

When we talk about the absolute best players in the history of tennis, there is a special club consisting of Serena Williams, Steffi Graf, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. These are the only four singles players in the history of the Open Era to win more than 21 slams. The No. 1 ranking is really just a subplot in the never-ending grand slam race.
Will only time tell what is coming next?
Even though Djokovic has all the fame now, and Graf is not much spoken about in recent days, one day even Djokovic will slip out of the limelight. However, whatever might their status be in popular culture, they will forever remain as legends, and the sport will never forget them.

Djokovic has won the most majors in recent times and he seems hungry and determined for more. When we think of perseverance and action, we often think of the Serbian wolf and there is a very good reason for this. It is rare to see Djokovic resting; he is always on the prowl, always looking for the next opportunity, always ruthless.
