The Australian player drives a classic car for his daily commute and loves starting it up every day. In Melbourne for his Australian Open stint, De Minaur won his second-round match in great fashion. After the match, De Minaur couldn’t help but talk about his love for his car.

De Minaur won his second-round clash against Matteo Arnaldi. The native player was able to bagel his opponent in the second set. De Minaur was all smiles and found himself beaming even more.

De Minaur is the hope of all Australian tennis fans as he aims to make a significant impact in the first Grand Slam of the year. So far, he has been performing exceptionally well, securing victories in his first two matches. With the home crowd cheering him on, the post-match interview provided insights into his personality. Jim Courier engaged in a conversation with him, delving into topics such as his old Mini. Courier asked him about his off-court wheels when a picture of De Minaur with his car popped up.

The Aussie player said, “Look at that. That’s just beautiful isn’t it 😂. That’s my 1973 Mini. It just turned 50 years old last December. We had a big party for it. That’s my daily drive right there.” The age of the car took Courier by surprise as he talked about himself being 53 years old and not feeling great every day. He also asked him if it even starts up on most days. For De Minaur, finding it out was the most fun part of it all.

He said, “The whole fun of it is not knowing if it’s gonna start every morning. I’ve enjoyed being stuck in the middle of the road a couple of times. But it’s still my baby & I love it.”
