Novak Djokovic shares a special connection with his tennis rackets. His rackets are his best companions on the court, that accompany him to the victory he wants to achieve. But do you know the secret behind his rackets? Recently, the most peculiar feature of the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s toolkit—which he uses to his advantage on the court—was revealed by a racket expert.

As the year-end tournament, the ATP Finals is going on, the world’s number-one-ranked tennis player has managed to have a fabulous team in one tournament itself. While all the tennis players playing the tournament go for the rackets available as per their demand, Marco Rossani recently talked about one aspect in which Djokovic rackets sand out of the crowd.

Marco Rossani discloses a strange aspect of Novak Djokovic’s racket

As the 36-year-old Serbian tennis player has reached the semi-final round of the tournament, the manager of the Wilson Italia Stringing Team opened up about his preference for rackets. In a recent interview with Ubitennis, the professional stringer, who has been working for the past 39 years, talked about his experience working in many national and international tournaments, including Wimbledon.

In that conversation, he also talked about how the 24-time Grand Slam champion carries a strange aspect regarding his racket. He said, “We don’t string for Djokovic because he has a private external service, but over the years I have also had the opportunity to string his rackets in other contexts, for example at Wimbledon. His is a particularly customized racket.”

Although they are not the ones who string his rackets, Djokovic’s rackets are built differently. Rossani added, “There is a lot of lead applied, it is certainly one of the strangest that can be seen among players.” While not much lead is used in the rackets, the world number one doesn’t go by the rules and has different kinds of rackets with him.

Nevertheless, even though his rackets are customized and personally made for him, they are the ones that face all the heat whenever the Serbian player is frustrated and not doing well on the court. Just a few days ago, in the opening round of the tournament against Holger Rune, he received a code violation for going a little out of the way with his racket to handle frustration.

Nevertheless, he maintained his cool under pressure and proclaimed victory over his 20-year-old opponent. However, he also gave his fans a glimpse of his other side when he lost control of his rage and left a small pile of destruction in his wake. This was the same match when he was able to retain his world number one ranking until the 2024 season began.
