John McEnroe showcases his philosophical side while delivering a speech at Stanford
Being a former Stanford student-athlete, the American tennis legend joined a slew of graduates and attendees who gathered for the college’s commencement ceremony on Sunday. During his visit to the Stanford Stadium, the 64-year-old tennis star shared some insightful lessons that he learned from his illustrious journey on the court.
Despite the fact that professional endeavors are crucial, he stated how other aspect are also vital. ‘Superbrat’ McEnroe said, “Everyone wants a great career, but don’t miss your life on the way to work. Work/life balance may seem impossible, but it’s worth pursuing.”

The former tennis ace told the students to remain open and optimistic about the professional path that they are going to pursue after their graduation. While talking about his own experiences, John McEnroe revealed how he used to be solely focused on his athletic journey and that he never thought of experiencing other casual activities and hobbies like taking guitar lessons.

Another prominent figure in the tennis community also shared his take on work-life balance
Just like McEnroe, another tennis star, Nick Kyrgios has always been quite blunt about his thoughts and ideas on various platforms. The Australian tennis player previously shared a video clip on his Instagram account which discussed his beliefs on work-life balance. Unlike the former tennis ace, he had some contradicting views regarding the work-life balance concept.
Kyrgios made it clear that he only believes in his philosophy of hard work as he said, “I’ve never understood why people just assume they deserve it or need it… . You get what you give!”
