Fans all over the world were saddened when they heard the news of the French Open withdrawal of Rafael Nadal. Due to an injury, the most dominant player in the history of clay-court tennis decided to withdraw from the 2023 French Open. Not just that, Nadal further mentioned that he would not be seen playing for the next few months, and most likely next year, 2024, will be his last year as a professional tennis player. If you are a hardcore tennis fan, you know that it could not get worse. But Rafael’s sister, Mariabel (Maria Isabel) Nadal, posted a story about him which gives us hope that we would still see him in court.

This is not the end of the line for Rafael Nadal

It’s never easy for a fan to see some of their favorites retiring from the sport. Tennis enthusiasts all around the world follow legends like Rafael Nadal all the time. They are the reason this sport has its place in the world. The 14-time French Open winner broke millions of hearts when he announced his desire to retire in 2024. People were disappointed that they would not see him in the 2023 season of the French Open.

However, not continuing to be a professional player does not mean that the 22-time Grand Slam champion would leave tennis altogether. As we all know, Rafael has his own tennis academy to teach this amazing sport. Rafael Nadal Academy and Rafael Nadal School are two of his extraordinary legacies.

Mariabel Nadal recently shared a couple of stories of the tennis legend teaching kids some basics of the sport on Sports Day. He seems to be having fun coaching them and, of course, the kids love having him too. In the story, Mariabel also calls him ‘New Coach’.

Can coaching be a possible career for Nadal?

Even though Rafael might not be a part of any tournaments after his retirement, but we would always love to see him in action on the court. It could be playing against one of his opponents or cute kids who might just be the next ‘Rafael Nadal’.
