‘Tennis and Pickleball Don’t Have to Be Competitors’ – American Tennis Legend Andre Agassi Says He’s Biased Towards Tennis

In addition to a number of fans, the new fast-growing racket game in the United States has managed to entice some of the greatest athletes in the tennis realm as well. Amidst some controversies surrounding the game, American tennis legends like Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, and Andy Roddick have already entered the courts of pickleball. On top of that, there is an event named Pickleball Slam taking place in Hollywood, with former tennis players participating in it. However, there are some skeptics in the new racket game community, raising questions about the tennis legends’ controversial switch to pickleball. Answering them, Andre Agassi recently came forward to reveal that he’s only biased toward tennis.

In doing so, the former tennis player has made it clear that he hasn’t forgotten about the sport that established his identity in the country.

Ahead of the highly anticipated pickleball event, the former tennis star recently opened up about his opinions on the same during an interview with the Miami New Times.. Andre Agassi will be up against his old rivals, John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, and Michael Chang for the upcoming Pickleball Slam in Hollywood.

However, there are still some skeptics in the pickleball community, sparking controversies surrounding the former tennis players’ switch to the paddle sport. In order to answer those skeptics, Agassi recently revealed his viewpoint on their tennis-to-pickleball transition. He said that he is only biased towards the sport that gave him his livelihood. Agassi said, “Tennis and pickleball don’t have to be competitors. We’re really not.”

It is quite clear to say that the former tennis player hasn’t forgotten about the sport that cemented his position as one of the greatest athletes in the United States. Notably, he added, “I’m biased [toward] tennis because it’s given me my livelihood, but transferring tennis skills to other racquet sports can be a really fun thing to do.”

Another American tennis legend recently opened up about his tennis-to-pickleball transition

John McEnroe, who previously said that pickleball was hurting tennis, has now changed his stance as suggested by his latest endorsement. The 7-time singles Grand Slam champion has often used his platform for trash-talking about the new racket sport.

But now it looks like the former tennis ace has a disparate opinion on the same. McEnroe recently said that pickleball will bring a lot of viewership to tennis as fans are already intrigued about it. This will further lift both racket sports together according to his recent endorsement video clip for ‘The Pickleball Slam’.
