Prior to his unfortunate demise, Hassenbein was a nationally ranked player. He was a member of a high school varsity team. In the national boys 12 and under category, Hassenbein reached rank 1 in 2021. Additionally, Hassenbeing was also present for the coin toss at the 2021 US Open final between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. Along with him, Falkowitz was also a member of the high school varsity team.
