After his final appearance this year at the Laver Cup, Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios reached home and began his preparations for next year’s ATP season. Despite looking completely demotivated to compete on-court this year, Kyrgios managed to produce a couple of enthralling performances at the Australian Open and at Wimbledon.

With consistent performances on-tour this year, Ruud managed to reach the semis at the ATP Finals in Turin after defeating Andrey Rublev in three sets.

After the victory, tennis fans celebrated Ruud’s victory and slammed Kyrgios for his previous comments.

For the unknown, the Kyrgios-Ruud feud started at the 2019 Italian Open third-round, where the Australian was defaulted from the match after a series of on-court offenses. Later that year, Ruud made comments on Kyrgios and called him an ‘idiot’ for walking off the court.

Nick responded to this comment and tweeted that he would rather watch a paint dry than to see any of Casper’s matches.

One fan wrote hilariously, “Congratulations to Casper Ruud on making the semi-finals of the ATP Tour Finals, the fifth biggest event in world tennis. Also a huge congratulations to Nick Kyrgios on making the semi-finals of the Call of Duty tournament no one cares about”.

In another one, a fan trolled Kyrgios by tweeting, “Nicholas Kyrgios will need at least 10 mojitos in Bondi Beach to recover from the beating caused by Casper Ruud’s ATP Finals qualification to the semifinals(bravo!)”.

Responding to an appreciation tweet from the ATP tour’s official account which read, “Can’t play on hard courts. Proving the doubters wrong, Casper Ruud”, another fan commented: “We hear more Kyrgios on Ruud!”

Another user used a meme to depict the reaction of Ruud after Kyrgios earlier made comments that the Norwegian was only good on clay.

Even the ESPN’s Spanish sports account made a hilarious GIF on Kyrgios’ reaction after seeing Ruud making it to the semis in Turin.
