Tommy Paul and Paige Lorenze have quickly become a power tennis couple. They first met in 2022, and by 2023, they had already moved in together, showcasing their strong bond. The couple frequently shares glimpses of their lives online, as they support each other’s careers. While Tommy is plying his trade in the professional ATP circuit, Paige has her own clothing brand. “I try to spend as much time [chilling out] as I can, whether it’s at the beach, fishing, by the ocean, or at dinner. My girlfriend [Paige Lorenze] makes me home-cooked meals,” Tommy once said, appreciating his downtime. It’s clear that mutual support remains a cornerstone of their relationship.

Paige isn’t new to sharing her cooking adventures online. On her YouTube vlog and Instagram page, Dairy Boy Kitchen, she often posts recipes alongside lifestyle content. Her last post in November 2024 featured oatmeal chocolate chip cookies alongside other healthy snacks like apple cider donuts and corn salads. This time, however, it was a team effort.

On Tuesday, Paige shared a seafood recipe made with fish freshly caught by Tommy. She captioned the post, “He caught it, I made it. Pt 1🩷🐟 @tommypaull.” The video showed Tommy arriving with a cooler containing a large fish. Paige filmed him cleaning it before she prepared her dish: Cilantro Crudo. She shared the recipe in the caption: “Grind: 2 limes, Handful of cilantro, Salt, Olive oil.” Using a mortar and pestle, she crushed the ingredients into a mix.

She then added ponzu sauce over thinly sliced sushi-grade fish and garnished it with fresh jalapeños. Her knife skills were on full display as she prepared the dish step-by-step before the couple enjoyed their creation. Sounds delicious, right? Cooking adventures seem to be a regular activity for this duo, even during Tommy’s tour schedules!

During last year’s Sunshine Double at Indian Wells, Tommy enjoyed evening barbecues with Paige after his matches. “I have basically just been chilling at the house watching tennis,” he said in an interview.

Continuing further, the American ace added, “It’s been nice having the last few matches I’ve been second up, so I’ve been going back and hanging out, watching the later matches. You know, my girlfriend has been cooking up food, we’ve been barbecuing some nights, and just hanging out.”

Paige is passionate about food and often serves Italian dishes for Tommy when they’re together in California. Her followers know her love for cooking through her vlogs. But what about fishing? Has that always been one of Tommy’s hobbies?

Tommy Paul opens up about his time away at sea

Sometimes, Tommy Paul needs a break to breathe and reset. For him, deep-sea fishing has become the perfect escape from the intense demands of life on the ATP Tour. It’s not just a way to unwind; it’s a vital part of how he clears his head and recharges. “I think a lot of people thought I was just fishing all of December, because that’s kind of all I was posting. But I tell everyone, the tennis always comes first,” Paul said.

But even when he’s out on the water or taking time off the court, Tommy’s mind stays tuned to tennis. “Even when I’m fishing, or doing off-court stuff, I’m thinking about whether it’s going to affect my tennis. And a lot of times, it affects it for the better,” he explained.

As tournaments approach, stress kicks in and practice becomes all-consuming. That’s when his team steps in with a simple but effective prescription: “All right, Thursday, you’re not playing tennis. Go fishing.” And that break works wonders. “It clears my mind. It’s like you’re all in on that and you don’t really have time to think about anything else. I love doing it so much, and it just fully separates me from my day job.”

On court, Tommy’s calm and collected approach mirrors his off-court demeanor. He doesn’t rely on hype or external energy; instead, he lets his game speak for itself. Coach Brad Stine often reminds him to “let it happen” when things get tough. “When you’re not playing amazing, sometimes your mind can kind of be all over the place. And for me, when I’m kind of in those zones of not playing my best, we try and focus on doing less,” Paul said.

The American’s recent form has shown flashes of promise with quarterfinal appearances at the Australian Open and semifinals in Adelaide, Dallas, and Houston, though titles have been elusive since his Stockholm Open victory in October 2024.
