Medvedev reveals his daughter’s impact on his role as a pro player
Daniil Medvedev has always been open about his family life, and he recently shared a delightful insight into his daughter Alisa’s high-spirited personality. During an interview with Tennis.com in September 2024, he described how her moments of frustration can be quite entertaining—and a bit reflective for him. “If something doesn’t go her way, then she throws a toy in anger or bites it,” he revealed, chuckling. His wife often looks at him with a knowing glance, asking, “Okay, where does it come from?” It’s a funny moment that makes Medvedev wonder if Alisa’s fiery temperament is simply in her genes.
Fans are no stranger to Medvedev’s competitive fire, which sometimes gets the better of him on the court. He’s had his share of dramatic outbursts, like when he smashed his racket after a disappointing loss to Jannik Sinner with a score of 6-1, 6-4 at the King’s Cup or broke another during the ATP Finals against Taylor Fritz, where he lost 6-4, 6-3 after double-faulting on a crucial break point.

Reflecting on his struggles during the ATP Finals, Medvedev candidly admitted in a post-match conference, “I have this every day, day in, day out, since like two, three years. Every practice is a struggle. Every match is a struggle. I was holding for long time. Now I feel zero pleasure of being on the court.”
Off the court though, Medvedev wants to be the best father he can be, saying, “I don’t always succeed to be the best father I want to be, but it teaches you.” With the pressures of the new season looming, will this softer side shine through and reveal a new Daniil Medvedev on the court?
