After losing in the third round of the French Open to Karen Khachanov, he fought with his Russian opponent, but at the same time had to deal with the unsupportive crowd. It all started when the 27-year-old was denied the chance to go to the toilet just after entering the second set.

Further, the second trigger point came when he was stopped from hitting the ball on the line, as the female umpire had a different decision to make. While he was unhappy with the decision, he protested against it. He stated, “He calls at the same time as I make contact, that’s hindering. No? What’s the rule then if I’m making contact and he’s calling out? Is that not hindrance? You’re wrong.”

The Australian star fought back in the third set, even though he had raised so many eyebrows. However, the incessant chanting of the spectators in the stands had troubled him in the interim, which prevented him from winning.
