‘The Big Question Mark…’ – Former World No.1 Believes Rafael Nadal’s Lack of Matches Will Hamper His Chance of Winning the 2022 US Open

Spanish tennis maestro Rafael Nadal has been brilliant this year. The 36-year-old clinched the first two Grand Slam titles of the year. Further, the 22-time Grand Slam champion made it to the Semifinal of Wimbledon Championships 2022. However, he had to pull out of the contest due to an unfortunate injury.
After missing out on the tour for a few weeks, the Spaniard returned to court in the Cincinnati Masters tournament. However, he suffered a shocking defeat to the eventual champion, Borna Coric. Now that the US Open is not too far away, former American tennis star Andy Roddick reacted to Nadal’s chances in the last Grand Slam of the year.

Andy Roddick raises concern about Nadal’s health
Nadal recently returned to action after an injury break. Although there were no signs of injury this time, but the 36-year-old looked in trouble for the most part and lost to Borna Coric. Andy Roddick gave his opinion on the possible finalists of the upcoming US Open. Speaking of which, the 39-year-old said that a lot depends on the health of Rafael Nadal.
“The big question mark is Rafa’s [Nadal] health — he’s only had one match since he pulled out of Wimbledon,” he said. Further, he reacted to Nadal’s loss to Coric. “The lead-up tournaments have had some surprising winners, a guy who was ranked 150 in the world (Borns Coric) just won Cincinnati. For the first time in a long time, I think there are more question marks than answers,” he added.
