The former tennis ace’s life took a significant turn for the better following his victory in London, as he became quite well-known in the sporting realm.

How was Roger Federer’s romantic relationship affected after his major breakthrough?

In one of the excerpts from ‘The Master’ by Christopher Clarey, the Swiss Maestro took a trip down memory lane as he recalled his first Wimbledon Championships triumph. When Federer clinched the major title in 2003, Mirka had to take on the responsibility of handling the deluge of demands for public appearances and interviews.

“There was this big boom, and everybody wanted so much from us,” the former tennis ace said in his book. As they were dating during that period, Mirka also received a number of messages and calls after Federer’s win in London. Due to the same, the 20-time singles Grand Slam champion also had to ask Mirka to switch it off as he wanted to “have some time” with her.

“And she’s like, ‘I can’t do that’,” Federer said while imitating his wife’s voice. The former world No. 1 player went on to discuss how they first encountered a few challenges in their relationship after experiencing fame.
