The Man Behind Successful Conduction of US Open in 2020 and 2021 Announces Unfortunate News

Just a few days ago Guy Forget resigned from the director’s post of French Open and Rolex Paris Masters. Now, United States Tennis Association’s CEO, Michael Dowse has stepped down after two years of service. Dowse sadly announced that he’ll leave the organization in March 2022.
Michael Dowse led the USTA during the challenging first years of the Covid-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, he successfully conducted the US Open events in both 2020 and 2021.

After effectively leading the charge of USTA, Michael Dowse has quit his post. Dowse will leave the organization in March 2022. During his two years long association, he served as both associations’ Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director.

” After 15 years of being president or CEO, I am ready for more balance in my life and moving more into the role of adviser, consultant, or board member in the broader arena of sports,” the 55-years-old said.

Michael Dowse was appointed as the Chief in October 2019 to concentrate on rejuvenating participation on a community level in the United States. Dowse faced the most challenges after March 2020 when the world was hit by Covid-19. However, he gracefully handled the financial as well as mental pressure and conducted both the US Open tournaments successfully.

Appreciation for Dowse
During Michael Dowse’s tenure, he showed some great leadership qualities and managed the sport powerfully. “ We want to thank Mike for his deep commitment to tennis and the steady hand he showed at a time of extraordinary challenge and uncertainty,” said the chairman of USTA in a statement.
Dowse’s predecessor, Gordon Smith, had resigned after serving for 12 long years. However, the 55-years-old now wants to maintain a good balance in his life and that’s why he has stepped down from the Chief Executive Officer’s post of USTA.
