Novak Djokovic is synonymous with the word ‘consistent’. The 34-year-old has stepped up year after year to produce consistent results throughout his illustrious career. He has claimed an astonishing 20 Grand Slam singles titles. Further, the Serb holds the record for the most ATP Masters 1000 titles, with 37 titles to his credit. More importantly, Djokovic isn’t finished yet.

However, Novak Djokovic’s 2022 season hasn’t started on an ideal note. Due to the cancelation of his Australian visa, he failed to defend his Australian Open title. Additionally, he is in danger of losing the top spot in ATP rankings to Russia’s Daniil Medvedev as early as the end of this month.
The Serb is in Dubai to participate in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, his first tournament of the season. During an interview, he opened up on the condition of tennis in China.

Novak Djokovic has a piece of advice for young kids in China playing tennis
At an event to promote the Novak Djokovic Foundation in Dubai, an reporter asked the Serb to give a recommendation or suggestion to young children practicing the sport in China.
He said, “I think China already has a very good system that is showing a lot of successful results in women’s tennis. I think the men’s tennis could be better.”

Further, he added, “There are things that obviously could be improved. Every part of the world, every culture is a bit different. Also, there is different genetical predispositions… The path to become a champion tennis player is not standardized. It’s very personalized, so you have to adjust to the kind of body type and the mentality and the culture and the tradition.”

Djokovic has had some memorable moments playing in China. The 20-time Grand Slam has won four titles at the Shanghai Masters, which is one of the elite ATP Tour Masters 1000 tournaments. Additionally, he is the only player to have won the ATP 500 China Open title six times.
