Before the match, the current WTA world no.1, Iga Świątek, who is paired up with Auger-Aliassime for the doubles event, was confident that his teammate will win against Kyrgios. The Aussie wasn’t impressed with the US Open champion’s comment and reacted in his unique snarky manner. It’s safe to say that his reaction didn’t please the fans.

Unsurprisingly, Kyrgios wasn’t impressed with Swiatek’s comments about his match. He reacted by saying, “I also got off a flight from Australia yesterday morning 🤣🤣”

A number of tennis fans took note of the 27-year-old tennis player’s comments on social media. They slammed him for making “excuses” after his defeat during the exhibition event in Dubai. Notably, one of the fans stated, “and once again the toddler with excuses 💀”

Another fan joined the others to criticize Kyrgios for making excuses for his defeat against the Canadian tennis star. The fan said, “A wise man once said: LOSERS FIND EXCUSES, WINNER FINDS WAY”
