Nick Kyrgios has unseeded entry to the 2022 Miami Open, but certainly has a voice in the tennis world. Nick is taking part in his 5th Miami Open tournament. Kyrgios took Twitter to ask his query – why did they change the venue?

Nick considered the previous venue was perfect for the tournament, and organizers should have continued with it. Many fans supported his question and point of view, explaining their reasons as well.

Is Nick Kyrgios right about the change of venue?
Nick has?a 12-4 record in the tournament and reached the 4th round in all of his previous appearances. While Kyrgios?played his 1st two seasons at the Tennis Complex in Key Biscayne and the other two seasons at a new venue.
They used the current venue for American football, which is now converted into a center court of equivalent capacity. Also, parking lots and other nearby premises are converted into other permanent courts.

This is the 4th different venue for the tournament in their 37-years history. Key Biscayne holds the tournament for the 31st year.

As per people, Biscayne had great surroundings, and the feeling was also perfect for the sport. But limitations in expansion forced organizers to look for another venue.

Real reasons behind the change of venue
There are many reasons which led to the venue change decision. Firstly, and technically, the Crandon Park facility had the slowest hard court on the tour. It was tiring for the players, especially in humid conditions.

Then there is one main reason; which involves legal proceedings. The lands on which the Crandon Park facility was built were donated by the Matheson family. They had an agreement of only one stadium to be built on it.

The tournament organizers offered a huge amount for the up-gradation of the stadium and adding some new courts. The family opposed and sued. After the appeal went in the Family?s favor, the organizers changed the venue.
