Amidst all the speculation about his retirement, Roger Federer has shared positive news for his fans. The last few years for Federer have been plagued by a recurring knee problem. He returned to the tour in 2021 and performed well at the French Open and Wimbledon before the same issue made him end his season.

Now, the Maestro has shared that he plans to continue playing to the best of his abilities for as long as he can.

The worst is behind me, I’m looking forward to everything that comes,” said Roger Federer at a sponsorship meeting. After the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, a third knee operation was necessary. “When you come back after an injury, every day is a better day. An exciting time. I went through that last year, it’s not a mental problem,” said Federer.

Federer has 20 Grand Slams to his name, tied with Nadal and Djokovic, the other two of the acclaimed ‘Big 3’. While he has promised a comeback to the courts soon, it remains to be seen if his fitness will allow him to challenge for the biggest prizes. The competition certainly won’t be straightforward with lots of talented professionals on the ATP Tour at the moment. Let’s hope we catch a glimpse of the legend as soon as possible.
