Tennis-based screen shows have stirred plenty of controversy among fans and players recently. The Netflix docuseries ‘Break Point’ has taken the stage after it spilt some of the nastiest beans of the locker rooms. However, the newest controversy has not arrived from Break Point. The upcoming tennis movie featuring Zendaya has become the talk of the town and overtaken Break Point in terms of hype right after the trailer went viral. But, not everyone has been a fan of the upcoming Zendaya movie ‘Challengers’.

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend shows contempt for Zendaya’s movie

Morgan Riddle has always been active on Instagram. Yesterday, she did a question and answers session on the app where she took questions from her followers. One of the followers raised a question about Zendaya featuring Challengers and Riddle’s response was rather surprising. She wrote on her Instagram story, “I’m sorry I’m not even saying this because I’m stingy about tennis but it genuinely looks like the worst movie ever made?? I can’t wait to never watch it.

Riddle’s comments certainly raised some eyebrows. Romance overshadowing tennis in the movie could arguably be the reason behind it. The better part of the trailer showed content related to the love life of the protagonist rather than tennis itself. However, despite its flaws, Challengers is catching more headlines than Break Point, a docuseries that actually provide more tennis content.

Why is Challengers outdoing Break Point?

The major reason that goes without saying is Zendaya’s influence. Zendaya is one of the biggest names across the globe with an immense fan following. From spider web-slinging to swinging tennis rackets, Zendaya could do no wrong. Her presence has derived interest from not only the tennis fans but also her own fanbase which happens to be larger than the tennis fraternity itself.

More so, Break Point has also failed in certain aspects. Instead of basing the initial seasons around the legends of the game like Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic, they resorted to following lesser-known players. The Netflix stars’ failure in the slams this year also made things worse for the docuseries.
