Has tennis changed since Federer’s retirement?

The 72-year-old former tennis player who won his only Grand Slam at the French Open in 1976 in a recent conversation with an Italian weekly magazine Chi talked about various aspects of the sport. In that interview, he also talked about how the 20-time Grand Slam Champion’s retirement has changed his perspective towards the game.

He said, “Now that Federer has stopped I follow much less. The reason? Everything has changed. Now the champions walk around with a court of miracles. There’s too much stardom, it seems like they’re doing who knows what…”

The Italian tennis star made it clear that a lot of things from the original point of view have changed and that the game has become a more celebratory platform for other tennis players. However, this might be the reason why he has now started showing less interest in the sport. But the biggest question of the time is whether the former world number one will be a part of the tennis world in the future or not.
