Novak Djokovic had a rocky start this season. He received a three-year ban after engaging himself in a legal battle with the Australian government over his vaccination status. The 21 times Grand Slam champion wasn’t able to defend his title. However, with things going back to normal and authorities becoming more supportive, fans were looking forward to his comeback in the upcoming season.

Though a recent statement from Karen Andrews, the shadow Home Minister, has reignited the debate. There are many who want to see the nine-time champion compete on the hard courts of Australia again. Whereas, others believe that he should take responsibility and deal with the consequences of his decision.

The Novak Djokovic vaccination mayhem

The constant pull and push over Djokovic’s presence in the upcoming Grand Slam caught fire after Andrews said, “It would be a slap in the face for those people in Australia who did the right thing if all of a sudden, Novak Djokovic is allowed back into the country. Simply because he is a high-ranking tennis player with many millions of dollars.”

Fans responded to the same. While some targeted the lady and mentioned how unfair her take on the matter is. “Horrible old witch.”

“The level of superiority complex for people and politicians on that indigenous genocidal land is out of this world.”

“Are they stupid! Courts ruled he was right and did nothing wrong, politicians threw him out for vaccine shit and now Australia doesn’t even have an vaccine entry mandate! So wtf is the issue?”

“Oh dear, relevance deprivation. She doesn’t even know why he was deported, which in the end was NOT because of lack of vax, but due to public order issues from his being a symbol of anti-vax (which was a terrible terrible reason imv).”

“It’s so crazy to me how anyone would think this is a fair punishment. It’s been proven in court that he did nothing wrong by entering the country. I feel like majority of people still don’t understand the facts of what happened.”

“Just pray that sports win over anything else.”

Others wrote about how the tournament doesn’t want Djokovic around because of the immense chances of him winning. They sensed some conspiracy and expressed accordingly.

One wrote, That’s why am still not confident it’s all politics now and these guys hate him to bits..”

Others added, “Honestly, after his abuse last Jan, I’m just okay if he’s not going there anymore. He doesn’t deserve them.”

“Given Novak’s invincible performance returning to the tour, I won’t be surprised if they try another move to keep him out. They won’t rest until their agenda is complete. Negotiations must be taking place as we speak,” one fan said.

Further, one of the fans went ahead and indulged the rivalry the Serb has with the 22 times Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the discussion. And claimed, “They want Nadal to be able to vulture another AO before Djokovic is able to come back.

Also, the ones who side with the former World no.1’s decision of staying unvaccinated marched in his defense and denounced the Australian Open situation.
