Recently, Serena Williams appeared in an interview with Vogue in which she talked in detail about the movie ‘Challengers.’ Besides giving a synopsis of the character and Zendaya’s presence, her attention got stuck in a moment where she was hooked by the chemistry of the lead character Tashi with her partner in the film.

Pressing the fact of how some ATP stars get to pursue an amazing career with the support of their better halves, she related it to the Swiss tennis maestro and his wife Mirka. “A lot of male tennis players really rely on their wives and girlfriends. Just look at someone like Roger Federer: he used to actually hit with his wife, Mirka, and they were like glue,” the WTA legend said.

You’re alone so much that you end up being really dependent on your team and their opinions,” she explained, using her own experience that earned her immense glory.

As the tennis legend delved into details about the tennis-based movie, she not only related moments to Federer’s journey but also found a resemblance in her own life, revealing the character that stood by her side.

Mentioning how Venus played a crucial part, even more intense than what Art did for Tashi in the recently released movie, she explained, “I was codependent with Venus at the beginning—worse than Art with Tashi. She was my support system. So it’s interesting that the movie was able to capture some of that experience.”

As Serena took an emotional ride of her own career by seeing the movie, it is evident that the sport/romance title would surely trigger emotion in every tennis player’s mind.
