In today’s match, no doubt the Greek player was the favorite to win against the Brit. Moreover, Murray hasn’t had a victory against the top-five players on the tour since 2016. However, that all changed today, as he beat world no.5, Tsitsipas in 1 hour and 40 minutes; the final score was 7-6(4) 6-3.

Earlier in the summer, Murray had a pretty bad Australian Open, as he lost in the second round. Then, he had some disappointing results at both Indian Wells and Miami Open. He wanted to skip the entire clay-court season. However, he received a wildcard at the Madrid Open, where he played great tennis.

Despite playing well, he skipped the French Open, as he was aiming to do well at Wimbledon. Now, he started his grass-court campaign in spectacular fashion as he reached the semi-final at the Surbiton Trophy. Unfortunately, he lost to the American Denis Kudla in the semi-final after a tough battle. Now, he again reached the semi-final and beat some top players along the way. In the round of 16, he beat Alexander Bublik, the n0.7 seed, and now Tsitsipas in the quarters.
