Before the commencement of the tournament this year, the organizers organized a small dinner party to welcome all the players. Significant names like Gael Monfils, his partner Elina Svitolina, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and many others were present. Gael Monfils reveals why he likes to visit the United States’ capital
In a recent revelation, Gael was asked about the reason he likes visiting Washington, D.C. What he likes about the place and everything. Replying to this, he said that the place is filled with wonders, lots of energy and good vibes. This gives him satisfaction and a recent to visit the place more often.
“I love it all the time when I come here. The city is beautiful,” Monfils told ATP Tour.

He further added, “I really like being around in the city, the energy is great, and definitely the crowd support here is different. I have actually one of the biggest memories in my career, so it’s always nice and great to come back.”

Monfils also did not shy away from thanking the fans who have always been supportive of him whenever he has stepped on the courts to compete. Interestingly, throughout his career, he has visited multiple places but the United States has been completely different for him.

The legendary Roger Federer also remarked that New York has been his go-to city and the only place in the world where he would want to visit often. Another reason for him to like the beautiful city is the fact that he tasted victory a few years back in 2016. This year, he has made his way into the round of 32, where he will be facing Alexander Bublik. In the round of 64, he cruised past American Bjorn Frantangelo with ease. The final score of the match was 6-4, 6-3 in favor of the Frenchman.
