Bastien Fachan, the prominent journalist, persevered and contended that Djokovic was more ‘outcome-oriented’ than the other tennis legends. Sandgren took a stand on X to defend Djokovic’s reputation and legacy.

Sandgren answered by expressing that Djokovic was able to forfeit the opportunity to play for ideals he holds higher than trophies. He couldn’t avoid noticing Djokovic’s principled stand during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2019, Djokovic avoided significant matches and tours because of his vaccination choice.
