The American tennis legend, John McEnroe also falls into the same category as he has never shied away from trash-talking about the new racket game.
He further regards himself as a “pickleball convert” while criticizing its game style on various occasions. But now it looks like the 7 time singles Grand Slam champion has switched sides with his latest endorsement of the pickleball. John McEnroe, who has often been often spotted playing pickleball with his friends, previously used his platform to take a dig at the new elements and rules of the game. However, a viral video of McEnroe suggests that he has now changed his stance on the fast-growing sport in the United States. The official Facebook page of ‘The Pickleball Slam’ recently uploaded an endorsement video clip of the 7 singles Grand Slam champion detailing his viewpoint on the game.

McEnroe was spotted saying, “I was concerned that pickleball would be hurting tennis and I had a couple of friends who said, ‘Oh, I didn’t use to watch tennis and now I watch it because I play pickleball, and so it makes me more interested to see higher level bigger level what they’re capable of.'”

The former tennis ace also believes that pickleball will also help the sport of tennis by enticing more audiences. McEnroe, who previously threw criticism at the new racket game, has now changed his opinion as he thinks it will help tennis grow in the sporting community.
He said, “I like it more. so I’m hoping that this interest in pickleball will also help tennis you know that we can lift each other up. That would be the, then it would be okay I wouldn’t feel so bad about playing this pickleball thing.”
