Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer shocked everyone with his retirement announcement. The 41-year-old is going to say goodbye to tennis after his appearance in the Laver Cup. In a 24-year-long career, Federer achieved unparalleled success and will end his career with 20 Grand Slam titles to his name. However, the retirement declaration had made the tickets for the tournament way costlier.

The resale value for the Laver Cup tickets has skyrocketed. When originally launched, the ticket prices were between £40-£510. However, the tickets are now available in the resale market for prices as high as £15,000. Here’s how the fans reacted to the news.

Knee injury: the reason behind the retirement of Roger Federer
Federer was suffering from a knee issue for over a year. In 2021, the 41-year-old decided to go under the knife for the same. While the legend planned to return after recovering, he was not satisfied with the results. His coach recently spoke about the same.
