Taylor Fritz talked about Wu Yibing’s nickname not being justified

Yibing’s victory over Fritz will go down as one of the biggest upsets of this year’s UTS Los Angeles, and it is a testament to the unpredictability of the sport. Despite the loss, Fritz remains a promising talent, and there is no doubt that he will bounce back from this disappointing performance.

On the other hand, Wu Yibing’s exceptional performance against Fritz will undoubtedly boost his confidence as he looks to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with on the ATP Tour.

After their match, Taylor was asked in an interview by the Tennis Majors about how he felt about his opponent Wu Yibing also referred to as “The Great Wall”. To which he said, “I’m going, to be honest, that’s not the most fitting name. The guy absolutely crushes the ball. When you describe someone as a wall, you think of someone who kind of counterpunches. That’s not how he plays.”
