Players often manage to find solutions to external issues that hamper their practice. As long as the weather is concerned, during excess heat, indoor practice and strength training is recommended. However, Alcaraz had made his intentions clear that he wanted to practice his groundstrokes. So, how does he counter the heat?

The World No.1 hit the Cincinnati courts following his quarter-final exit in Toronto. His first glimpses in Ohio were revealed by the Instagram handle of the Western and Souther Open’s official account. They added a caption that read, “? Rate your Carlos excitement from 1 to 10, Cincy!“.

Alcaraz engaged in an intense training session without putting on a shirt. It allowed him to extend his practice session and deal with the treacherous heat. There were enough fans in the stands trying to get a glimpse of the two-time major champion before he kicked off his campaign.

Alcaraz wasn’t the first player to come up with this move. It was Novak Djokovic who pulled it off in his previous practice session, and the apprentice followed in the master’s footsteps.

In the same session, Djokovic also flexed his chiseled physique as he tackled the Cincinnati weather while playing without a t-shirt.
