In a recent revelation, Brazilian tennis player Victor Bini has suffered a 13-month suspension for violating the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP). This comes after a drug test conducted during a tournament in Brazil on April 26, 2023, revealed the presence of clomiphene metabolites. This is a prohibited anti-estrogenic substance which comes under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) prohibited list. After the substance was found present in his urine sample, he was not allowed to play the game.

Bini who has a career-high ATP singles ranking of 1631, admitted to the anti-doping rule violation (ADRV). He presented all the evidence and said that the source of the clomiphene was a contaminated bespoke supplement which was manufactured in Brazil. His submission included photographs of the supplement taken. After all the reports were confirmed, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced that he would not take part in any tournament and handed him a ban.

Simona Halep is serving a 4-year doping ban in tennis

Once regarded as one of the best players of her generation, Simona Halep’s career took a U-turn after she found herself in the most annoying situations that she would have ever thought of. The 32-year-old player first came into the limelight after she was provisionally suspended from the game back in October 2022 after traces of roxadustat, a banned blood booster were found during the US Open.

However, she strongly denied the accusations and said that she only took the anaemia drug from a licensed supplement. Halep, who expressed her frustration over a delay in the process was eventually handed a 4-year ban following recent developments. This news came out as a complete shocker to her fans. While many believe that the tests done are not accurate enough, many prominent names have come ahead to stand with the decision that was given to her.
