“Unexpected”: Novak Djokovic Surprised With Nick Kyrgios’ Comments on Him

The World No. 1, Novak Djokovic is currently competing at the 2021 Nitto ATP Finals. The Serb has already qualified for the semi-finals of the competition. In a recent press conference, Djokovic replied to the comments made by Nick Kyrgios about Nole in his ‘No Boundaries’ podcast.

Surprisingly, the Australian supported Djokovic’s views against mandating the Covid-19 vaccine. Following this, the Serb was shocked to know this as Kyrgios had previously called out Novak for his views on the vaccination.

Novak Djokovic was shocked by Nick Kyrgios’ support

Just a few days ago, Kyrgios in his ‘No Boundaries’ podcast talked about the importance of vaccination. However, he also respected Djokovic’s views against mandating the vaccine. In a press conference at Nitto ATP Finals, Novak Djokovic said he was surprised at getting support from Nick Kyrgios.

Djokovic quoted, “That was unexpected, knowing what was coming from him towards me in the last couple of years. But this time I must agree with him that the freedom of choice is essential for everyone, whether it’s me or somebody else.”

Previously, Kyrgios has been vocal about his disapproval of Novak’s stance. But the enigmatic Australian appears to have had a change of heart, much to Nole’s surprise.

With 2022 coming closer, the excitement for the Australian Open 2022 has already begun. Many elite players have already announced their participation at the ‘Happy Slam’. However, the World No. 1, Novak Djokovic hasn’t confirmed his availability for the Australian Open.
