The new tennis season is about to kick off, and the fans can’t keep quiet. But before this, the tennis community will also get to witness the exciting international hard-court tennis tournament, the United Cup. Players from both the ATP and WTA circuits will participate in this tournament, which will be played across multiple Australian cities.

Back in 2022, the first edition of the United Cup took place during a two-week period preceding the Grand Slam event in Melbourne. Returning with a similar format in 2023, the second edition of the international tournament will feature the likes of Cameron Norrie and Alex de Minaur locking horns in an exciting matchup.

The Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur made some notable impressions during the 2023 hard court season. De Minaur managed to reach the round of 16 of the US Open, where he was knocked out by the eventual finalist, Daniil Medvedev. Later, the current number 12 player also secured a quarterfinal finish at the Japan Open after his straight-set win against Diego Schwartzman. Even at the end of the season, the Aussie was in stellar form as he reached the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters.

Cameron Norrie, on the other hand, experienced a lackluster hard-court season as he faced a number of initial-round defeats. The British tennis player’s campaign at the US Open came to an early end after his third-round defeat against the unseeded Italian, Matteo Arnaldi. Even during the Asian hard-court swing, the former world No. 8 player faced consecutive first-round knockouts at the China Open and Shanghai Masters.
