‘Unlike Any Other in the Sport’ – Naomi Osaka’s Agency Signs Their First-Ever Client in Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios has been a prominent part of the men’s tour for a while now. The swash-buckling Australian is returning to form ahead of the Wimbledon Championships and made his way into the top-50 again. The Aussie is all set to join a new venture this time around. On Monday, Kyrgios collaborated with multiple Grand Slam Open champion Naomi Osaka to join EVOLVE, the sports agency co-founded by her.

Nick Kyrgios joins Osaka at EVOLVE
Osaka partnered with agent Stuart Duguid to start EVOLVE in May. The company focuses on investing, charity work and business started by professional athletes. “Kyrgios embodies the types of athletes we want to work with at Evolve,” Osaka said.

“He’s got an unmatched style, passion, and personality that is unlike any other in the sport. We have some big things in the pipeline for him that are very unique and pioneering,” she added. Kyrgios has been an entertainer on court, with his brand of tennis making him a continual threat throughout the calendar year.
The Australian has reached the quarter-finals at the Australian and French Open. He has also won 6 titles on the ATP Tour, while reaching a career high ranking of 13 in 2016.

Naomi Osaka set to miss Wimbledon
The former World No. 1 has been battling an Achilles injury, which will keep her out of the Championships this year. Moreover, she has not played at Wimbledon since 2019 after missing last year’s edition taking an extended break after the French Open controversy.

Since then, she has fallen out of the Top 40 in the WTA rankings, while failing to win a single title this year. Her best performance came at the Miami Open, where she lost in the final to current No.1 Iga Swiatek. Osaka will aim to return for the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open. The Japanese has won the title at Flushing Meadows in 2018 and 2020.
