Woodbridge upset with Nick Kyrgios’ rant over the supporter’s box
An Australian tennis veteran, Todd Woodbridge, pleaded with members of Nick Kyrgios’ support crew to “step away” if his abuse escalates after his “routine implosion” and box abuse during Thursday’s US Open victory. Over his broadcast on Channel 9, Woodbridge said, “At some point the people who are sitting in his players box need to take some action.”
Further, he added, “Why does he (Kyrgios) want his player’s box to tell him what to do when he’s coach-less? I mean, goodness me. The amount of energy he expends unnecessarily, it wears him out. He is so much better when he doesn’t do that … he’s angry with himself.”
