The player now is still not sure about his status regarding the US Open for which he might appear. This depends on the USA government’s guidelines.

Will Novak Djokovic be able to play at the US Open?

Novak Djokovic is still not sure about his status, about his participation at the US Open. According to the recent updates, he is still not allowed to take part in any tennis tour held in the USA. This is as per the guidelines of the USA Centers for Disease and Prevention.

CEO of USTA (United States Tennis Association), Lewis Sherr said, “We are going to follow the government and C. D. C directives.” He made it clear that USTA will not be making any exceptions and everything will go as per the country’s official guidelines. However, the status can change by late August when the guidelines officially change.

Hurdles for the Serbian player 

Novak Djokovic could not take part in the tennis tours. For instance, they conducted the Indian Wells and the Miami Open in the country.

Moreover, he had competed for the French Open. However, was defeated by the reigning champion, King of Clay, Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals.

Aim behind the participation at the US Open

The Serbian player has been trying to get past his contemporary rival Rafael Nadal in the score of grand slam titles. However, that will not be possible if the player will not be able to take part in the grand slam titles’ tour.
