Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Greek tennis professional, is currently taking part at the Miami Open 2022. The 23-year-old has a career highest ranking of 3 and seven career ATP titles up so far. Apparently, in his tournament opener in Miami against J.J.Wolf, the young Greek seemed to be bothered by the heat.

Tsitsipas edged past the young American in three thrilling sets 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1. Evidently, during his post-match interview, the 23-year-old Greek appeared to be struggling with the after-effects of the exhausting match that he played in unforgiving Miami heat.

Tsitsipas changes his shirt during his press conference

Every event has something that causes trouble for the players. While it was the wind that bothered the players in the Californian desert, it is the heat at the Miami Masters that seems to be affecting players this week.

Evidently, the heat seemed to take a toll on Tsitsipas. His second-round contest against J. J Wolf lasted for more than two hours. Even though he showed resilience against Wolf’s onslaught in the glaring Miami heat, his struggle with the heat surfaced while speaking about the match during his post-match interview. He tried to answer, but the unsettling feeling from all the sweat and heat obstructed him and he excused himself to change his shirt. He was clearly exhausted following his two-hour-long tussle in the unrelenting tropical Miami heat.

Tsitsipas rose to prominence on the tour when he beat Novak Djokovic in his first-ever clash against the Serb. The Greek overcame Djokovic in three sets at the Canadian Masters 1000 in 2018. While he gained a two-sets-to-love lead against Djokovic in the final at the French Open last year, he slowly crumbled in five sets, suffering a heartbreaking loss in his first-ever Major final. He has an overall 2-6 head-head record against the Serb.

Against Rafael Nadal, Tsitsipas has recorded two victories. He claimed his first victory against the Spaniard at the Madrid Masters in 2019. He has locked horns against Nadal nine times and has two victories.
