It was the French Open 2020. The then 19-year-old Jannik Sinner had entered his first Grand Slam quarterfinals. Further, the challenge ahead was difficult as he was up against the ‘King of Clay’ Rafael Nadal. Although Sinner lost to the 21-time Grand Slam champion, it was only the beginning of the journey to the top.

Jannik Sinner spotted training with Simone Vagnozzi

The Italian has begun his preparations in full swing for the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. He was looking in good shape as he turned up with his fellow countryman and former professional player Simone Vagnozzi.

Vagnozzi is one of the most prominent coaches in Italy. He was the coach of Marco Cecchinato when he defeated Novak Djokovic to reach the French Open semifinals in 2018. Further, he has also worked with Stefano Travaglia.

Until last month, the Italian was training with long-time coach Riccardo Piatti since he was a youngster. He left his home when he was 13 to train at the Piatti Tennis Center in Bordighera, Italy. However, after the last month’s Australian Open the two parted ways and he has been looking to hire a ‘super coach’ to take his game to the next level.
