Very few people know that Roger Federer’s mother, Lynette Federer, is from South Africa. So, the Swiss player already had a special bond with Africa in general. In 2003, he created a foundation called Roger Federer Foundation to provide education for underprivileged children in Africa and also Switzerland.
In 2005, he visited Malawi for the first time and spent some quality time with some kids from a pre-school. During his time, he talked with some kids and they wrote each other’s names. Then, he had a fun time explaining the hair on his forearms.
