Consistency and class have been the two unshakeable pillars of Swiss maestro Roger Federer’s illustrious career. However, for the past two years, injury has sidelined him from the ATP Tour. While he has still shown glimpses of his former self at times, he just hasn’t been able to play enough tournaments. And as a result, the 40-year-old is now no longer in the Top 10 ATP World Rankings. Naturally, Roger Federer fans across the world were devastated by the development.

Roger Federer officially out of the ATP Top 10 Rankings

Roger Federer has not participated in any tournament after his Wimbledon exit against Hubert Hurkacz. Coincidentally, the Polish star made his debut in the Top 10, reaching the Indian Wells quarterfinals, and pushed the Swiss maestro out. Federer is World No.11 now.

Over this, tennis fans expressed their blues on Twitter. One fan said, “Sad, very sad day, I’m wallowing in sadness.” Clearly, it shows how the impact the 20-time Grand Slam champion has on the tennis world.

Furthermore, an optimistic fan did not get down over this news. Instead, they said, “He’ll be back and complete the 1000 weeks.”

However, other Federer fans did not hide their emotions. One such distraught fan tweeted tweeted, “shaking, crying, screaming, sliding down the wall banging my fists on the floor.”

Additionally, some of the tennis fans reflected on the genius of the Swiss maestro. One called it an “end of an era,” whereas the other applauded his feat, “18 years and seven months. Nuts.”
