Casper Ruud is another young player who is raring to prove his mettle in the current French Open. So far, Ruud has advanced to round three after his hard-fought win against Giulio Zeppieri in the second round. After his victory, Ruud was asked about who he would love to be with if he was stranded on an island. Like many tennis players around the world, Ruud answered with a list that included Roger Federer.
While Ruud is a self-proclaimed fanboy of Rafael Nadal, the Norwegian couldn’t help but remember how he felt when he was basking in the presence of the Swiss Maestro during his final match at the Laver Cup before he bowed out with grace from the world of tennis.

After victory over Zeppieri, Ruud attended the post-match conference. The Norwegian was first asked about how he spent the time between matches. To which he replied he likes to kick back with a movie. The second question forced Ruud to think. He was asked to pick any tennis player who he would like to be stranded with, on an island.
The former number 2 answered by reminiscing about how players interacted during the 2022 Laver Cup. He remembered how he felt about being around four tennis legends, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. Ruud said that the connection between the four was endearing as they kept joking with each other.
