The coaching saga surrounding Holger Rune finally came to a close after Boris Becker decided to join hands with the aspiring Danish star. After parting ways with Patrick Mouratoglou at the US Open, the search for a coach was on for him. However, regardless of the fact that Becker joined Rune’s staff just a few days ago, the two seem to be getting along really well. This even made him draw comparisons with the legendary Novak Djokovic, whom he once coached.
Now, in a recent revelation, Boris Becker has come out and talked about his relationship with the mother of Holger Rune while drawing parallels with his bond with the wife of Novak Djokovic. The German player, who got a chance to coach two of the best players in the world reflects on how important it is for a coach to know about his player’s whereabouts.

Boris Becker explains relationship with Holger Rune’s mother while drawing parallels with Novak Djokovic
In a recent interview, tennis legend Boris Becker draws a parallel between his relationship with Novak Djokovic and the role he plays in the life of Holger Rune’s mother. Becker said that he likes to have close contact with each other. It is because he likes to be aware of what the players are going through or doing so that he can train them accordingly.
There have been times when the players might deal with lows in their lives. At that point, the coach could help them get out of their zone. However, that would only be possible if he is well aware of the situation that the player is in. This also increases the bond that the player has with the coach.
“Yes, that is my role too. By the way, it was the same with Novak and his wife. We need close contact with each other. I can only help him if I know exactly how he is feeling. This applies not only on the pitch, but also in his private life. Is he worried, is he on a high, etc.? I need to know the reasons why he is tired today but will be fine tomorrow,” said Becker in the interview.
