Benoit Paire definitely has a love-hate relationship with tennis rackets. Whenever the Frenchman is in the news, it seems like it’s the expense of a racket somewhere. Recently, while playing Interclubs in France, he grew frustrated by a faulty serve and threw his racket at the wall behind him.

On several occasions in the past, Benoit Paire has been given code violations for taking his anger out on a racket.

Benoit Paire throws his racket in frustration

Paire is one of the most entertaining characters on tour, with a flashy playing style and the capacity for incredible winners. By his own admission, he feeds off the energy of crowds and spectators certainly enjoy the entertainment that he brings to the court. However, the passion he possesses can sometimes come out in less than ideal forms.

Following a service fault in a recent Interclubs match in France, Paire turned around and hurled his racket at the wall behind him.

ESPNTennis posted Paire’s video on their Instagram account, and the gasps of those present can be heard in the background.

Paire has talked about his tendency to show his anger on the court previously, he stated, “The funniest thing is that I never get angry off the court, and I do not hurt anyone either. I never had a fight, not even as a kid, it only happens to me when I am a tennis player.”

Currently ranked 46 on the ATP rankings, the 32-year-old had an average season on tour this year. One of his most notable performances this season came in the Cincinnati Masters, where he reached the quarter-finals before losing to Andrey Rublev.
