Recently, he watched a match of the UEFA Champions League as a spectator in Salzburg, Austria. The match was between Austria’s RB Salzburg and France’s Lille in which the former emerged as the winner.

Thiem seemed quite happy after his home side’s win and even gave an interview after it. Interestingly, his wrist seemed fine during the interview and it was not looking in a splint anymore. Moreover, the former US Open champion also looked pretty fit and fine.

After this, it all proved to be a nightmare for Thiem. He failed to win even a single match at the ATP Dubai, Lyon Open, and at the Mallorca Open 2021. He didn’t even enjoy a great run on clay as he lost a five-set marathon against Pablo Andujar and got eliminated in the very first round of the French Open 2021.

As of now, it is ambiguous whether Dominic Thiem will return to the court this year or now. However, fans still back him and have huge expectations from him. Will he be able to get back on his winning days next year?
