The former world no.9 clashed with the French professional on April 11 and what a match it was. Although one would expect Fabio to take an easy win over Arthur, the match was rather cutthroat. Both played in a similar fashion. However, the Italian’s experience and endurance outfoxed the 26-year-old. Fognini won the match by 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.
Post the match, Neymar shared a clip that showed how thrilling the game was for him.

What’s ahead for Fognini?
Fabio Fognini has given a decent start to this year’s clay-court season. He earlier has made some splendid records on the red dirt as out of his 9 career titles, 8 are from clay-court tournaments. Notably, he won the 2019 Monte Carlo open. Though his records back him, he is put up against the defending champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Speaking of Tsitsipas, he is seeded third this year and thrashed almost every player last year, and claimed the title without dropping a single set. Currently, world no.5 Tsitsipas is on a lead of 3 victories against Fabio Fognini. However, Fognini will be looking forward to scoring his first win in the upcoming match.
