After missing the 2020 season due to a back injury, Kyrgios started quite well at the Australian Open 2021 before losing to Dominic Thiem in the third round. He then took a break from tennis and didn’t play a single match on clay.

The Australian player was looking good at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 but he injured his back once again and retired in the middle of the Grand Slam. The US Open 2021 proved to be a nightmare for him as he got eliminated in the very first round after losing to Roberto Bautista Agut.
