Novak Djokovic is the best of this generation: Darren Cahill

Simona Halep’s coach, Darren Cahill, has presented his thoughts on Djokovic’s splendid record. The Serb started with one Grand Slam title in 2011 when the greats like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were ruling the tennis world. However, Djokovic caught up with the two GOATs and now sits with them at 20 Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic is the best of this generation. He’s broken so many records in this game. The biggest thing with Novak – we are still counting his majors. Because it will go on,” said Darren Cahill, as reported by TennisUpToDate.

Novak Djokovic will be the first person since Rod Laver to complete the Calendar Grand Slam this year, if things go according to plan. He will be playing the US Open in August, before that he will be leaving for his gold quest in Tokyo.

So we know where he stands, he’s gonna chase down that Olympic gold. He’ll try to do it at the US Open – win the Grand Slam,” said Darren. The Australian is really hoping for the Serb to complete the Golden Grand Slam this year. The Golden Grand Slam is one when the player wins all four Grand Slam titles, along with the Olympic Gold.
