Over the last few years, South American tennis has seen a major boom. From a time when tennis was majorly dictated by the European giants, the fans have made their way into a generation where the American continents are producing more and more talent. However, unlike the players from other parts of the world, they do not get the exact support that they need. Reflecting on the same, Andy Murray voiced his opinion.

As soon as Murray talked about how tennis should grow in South America, Diego Schwartzman, the Argentinean tennis star came ahead and openly supported the Brit’s initiative for a more progressive tennis system in South America.

Responding to Murray’s idea of a dedicated tennis tour in South America, Schwartzman passionately supported the cause. He highlighted the fact that South America’s sports culture includes incredible fan support, and lively atmospheres, where tennis is a big part.

Thanking Murray for his words, Schwartzman pointed out that the ATP has been reducing support for the region, despite having many talented players. Urging the ATP to recognize the region’s tennis talent, Schwartzman emphasized the need for more tournaments in South America.

“Let @atptour know this Andy! Every year they put us less support. Not just because of how the fans support the tournaments. Also how many players we have and we had on the top as u know. We deserve more than this from atp. Thanks for your words!” said Schwartzman while agreeing to Andy Murray’s words.

Thus, Diego Schwartzman joined Andy Murray as he called out for more support in the South American tennis circuit. While claiming that everything about the sporting culture is great in South America, he suggested that the ATP needs to look out at these points.

However, it was not only the Argentinean star Diego Schwartzman who joined Andy Murray. Another legend of the game Boris Becker, also came ahead and made his feelings clear about the same.

Reposting the tweet, Boris Becker said that it was not an unpopular opinion but rather a very solid idea that Murray gave. He further suggested that tennis should be going to the countries where there has been a huge boom in recent years.

“Why unpopular?!? You’re absolutely right about your opinion Andy! Tennis should go to the countries/continents where tennis is booming,” said Becker while supporting Murray.

Thus, even the likes of Boris Becker joined Andy Murray as he felt like the British legend had a point that should be considered by the ATP. While suggesting that tennis is rapidly growing in South America, he suggested a need for more awareness about the same in the countries where the game saw a massive boom in the recent years.
