The tennis community has put all its focus on one single point as Stefanos Tsitsipas battles Casper Ruud for the Barcelona Open title. After his massive victory over Ruud back at the Monte Carlo Masters finals, the match is currently considered to be an opportunity for the Norwegian and therefore, every aspect is closely viewed. While Tsitsipas earned immense respect from the fans because of his dominant performance, his father seems to be attracting some hate.

In a majority of the matches that feature Apostolos Tsitsipas in the stands, fans have developed the repeated habit of talking and commenting loudly. While it might be something that the ATP star understands and is fine with, many consider it to be a disturbing habit. Recently, a post in which Tsitsipas’ father can be seen talking as the Greek fights for the Barcelona Open glory surfaced on social media. And the comment section was not all sunshine and roses.

A fan, reflecting on the fact that Apostolos is repeating it again, wrote, Apostolos Tsitsipas back at it

“Casper Ruud v #tsitsipas and his dad,” wrote another fan, viewing it as an evident disturbance for Ruud. They labeled the Tsitsipas men together, claiming Ruud is fighting against two at a time!

A fan, keeping no filters in his frustrated thoughts over the repeated incident, wrote, “We have to kick Apostolos Tsitsipas off the court.”

Another fan, mentioned the difficulty for Tsitsipas if he could properly hear what his father says during the match. “I have to admit, I can’t watch tsitsipas play if a microphone is in his father’s box,” he wrote.

Another comment presented an urge to see Apostolos silent along with mentioning the fact that, “He talks to his son as if he’s 10 years old.” They wanted Stefanos’ dad to “shut up”.

However, with Ruud taking over the victory finally, it seemed like the rage of the fans was reasonable. Interestingly though, while fans seem so against Apostolos, Stefanos has always been grateful for his dad always being in his corner.
