The notion of “trash-talking” is hardly new, as many players have already demonstrated their mocking of their opponents. One such incident was witnessed between the ATP stars, Frances Tiafoe and Stefanos Tsitsipas during the previous season’s Laver Cup. It was the American tennis player who made some taunting remarks towards his rival, by referring to him as “Greek yogurt”.
Even this season, the world No. 11 player didn’t hold himself back from bantering the Greek tennis player after his recent victory in the recently concluded Barcelona Open. However, ‘Bigfoe’ has now made it clear that he has no intention of beefing with Tsitsipas as he just likes to ‘clown’ around him.

The American tennis player has often become a target of sharp criticism because of his habit of trash-talking about his opponents. After his previous season’s Laver Cup victory, Frances Tiafoe made a “Greek yogurt” remark towards his ATP rival. Now, once again, the world No. 11 player came up with his banter about the Greek tennis player’s post-match speech in Spain.
After his remarkable performance in Barcelona Open, Stefanos Tsitsipas said that he had “the patience of a donkey” during his match against the Australian tennis player, Alex de Minaur. Later, his remarks were met with a blunt response from his peer, Tiafoe who took to his Instagram story to express his opinion. He stated that Tsitsipas is an incredible player but he needs to ‘chill’ with his statement regarding the victory.
However, ‘Bigfoe’ has now made his stance clear about bantering his peer on various occasions. According to a Greek journalist, The American tennis player has no intention of beefing with Tsitsipas as he just likes to ‘clown’ around him.
The journalist tweeted, “Tiafoe tells me he has no problem with Tsitsipas: ‘I got crazy amount of respect for him, he is an unbelievable player-Saw those comments (“patience of a donkey”), I just think they are very funny. It’s not me bullying him, where I grew up we kids like to clown’.”
