‘What Do You Have to Say, Fedal Fans?’- Novak Djokovic’s Fans Rejoice as Recent Poll Affirm His Supremacy Over Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

The debate about who is the best tennis player in the 21st century is going on for years. So, Eurosport decided to give it yet another go and did a poll to choose the best player amongst Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.

With 4,662 votes in the poll, 51% of them being in Djokovic’s favor brought on hailing responses from his fans. As the player advances to further rounds of the Astana Open, his chances of rising to the top increase.

Novak Djokovic tops the poll for being the GOAT

Eurosport did a poll on Twitter where it asked its audience, “If you could only pick one to be the GOAT, who would you pick?” Consequently, 51% of the votes went to Novak Djokovic, followed by Federer at 28% and then Nadal at 20%.

The results enraged Federer and Nadal fans, however, it was a delight for Djokovic fans. One fan tweeted, “Not surprise this is the reality,” expressing their contentment with the results.

Another fan tweeted, “Audience speaks,” agreeing with the consensus of the poll.

One fan reminded other fans to remember this and tweeted, “Pin Up,” to hail the legendary career of the Serbian player.

There was a tweet stating Djokovic’s supremacy, “Know who d GOAT is!!!” However, this was not the case when ATP updates its rankings.

Furthermore, a fan stated, “Lmao I know yall wanted to see different results,” taking a subtle dig at Nadal and Federer’s fans.

However, all fans did not do that. One fan praised all three but kept their allegiance to Djokovic reserved. It tweeted, All 3 greats, but only one G.O.A.T.”

Similarly, one fan stated, “Everyone with brain knew it.”

Seeing the results, one non-supporter referred to Djokovic’s fans as robots. It tweeted, “Bots attacked. Fedfam Ignored. Rafans were drunk and overslept.”

The fans condemned ATP for its faulty ranking system which led to the Serbian player’s downfall from the top.

Djokovic fans tease Nadal and Federer’s fans

Well, it would not be a proper poll if the fans do not dismiss each other’s claims. The GOAT debate is not new, this has been going on forever. The three players have had supremacy in men’s tennis and have contributed majorly to the popularity of the sport. However, this debate has always divided their fans.

One fan tweeted, “Everyone knows who is the best tennis player to hold the tennis racket. The truth hurts some, but in the end it’s the truth… Novak Djokovic Ladies and gentlemen.”

Another one stated, “Stating the obvious #Djokovic is the GOAT of tennis F + N < @DjokerNole #NoleFam.” 

A fan did not state anything but expressed their views with a Djokovic meme.

One Djokovic fan took a major dig at the Spanish tennis player, Rafael Nadal. It tweeted, “Nadal, the clay specialist, who runs away from competition against Djokovic outside clay court will always be Number 3 among BIG 3. Thr is no injury, only SPINE missing.”

Yet another fan mocked the results and stated, “What do you have to say, Fedal fans?” Having an arduous year where Djokovic could not participate in both the hard court majors. Apart from that, he missed out on various ATP tours because of his vaccination status.

Moreover, Wimbledon was stripped of its ranking spots. This eventually resulted in the Serbian player losing his top rank. However, he has kept his gameplay strong and right now is in Kazakhstan to win his 90th ATP tour title. He is facing Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals of the Astana Open.
